Dr Arana Parslow Senior Surgical Registrar
Animal Referral Hospital
Arana graduated from the University of Sydney. After working in small animal practice here and in the United Kingdom, Arana returned returned to Australia in 2009. She joined Australia Zoo’s wildlife hospital, QLD and here, working on injured Koalas, her journey to surgical specialisation began. In 2010 Arana completed a one year mixed internship at North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre before commencing work with the surgical team at Animal Referral Hospital, Homebush. In 2011 Arana completed her ANZCVS memberships in small animal surgery . Arana completed her residency training in small animal surgery under the guidance of Dr David Simpson and Dr Sarah Goldsmid at ARH Homebush and now, after spending time growing her family in recent years, she is again working towards sitting her Fellowship examinations (when her small creatures permit). Oncological surgery and soft tissue reconstruction are an area Arana finds particularly interesting, challenging and rewarding. She hopes you will too!
